Four Different Counters For Japanese

In English we say, “three sheets of paper, four bottles of water, six cats/dogs/fish, ten books/binders“. Well, Japanese does the same thing! Counters are used to indicate what type of object the speaker is talking about. What counter should be used is based on the shape, size, and type of whatever it is that we are counting. Here is a chart of the different counters!
